Description
The Goal of MPF1 is to educate audio professionals and aspiring music and sound engineers with practical skills that can be used immediately. This course focuses on real world applications of recording, mixing, and mastering music for commercial use.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Appropriate equipment set-up
- Microphone selection, placement, and technique for vocals and live instruments
- Gain staging and headroom management throughout the recording chain
- Recording session workflow — managing takes, comping, and file organization
- Optimizing levels and settings for specific vocalists or applications
- Stacking and layering vocals to enhance stereo field
- Vocal editing, vocal alignment, and pitch correction
- Leveling and pre master treatment
- Mastering, taking the product to commercial standards
- Radio submission guidelines
Course Experience:
This course is a 95% hands on experience in recording, mixing, and mastering. Students will work directly with real artists in a live studio environment, gaining hands-on experience running sessions from setup to final bounce. Finished products can be included on your demo reel, giving you professionally credited work right after course completion.
